Unknown Refuge:

This Bolton based band of 15 to 17-year olds defy their years with an accomplished, mature sound that will set your fillings on edge. Despite their age this band gives a very mature performance that screams ‘ROCK’. Their first major land mark was in 2016, when their debut public performance earned them 1st place in the Salford Battle of the Bands. This resulted in a recording session at SSR studios where they produced their first recorded work “Wall of Lies” followed by a headline slot at Manchester’s iconic venue ‘Band on the Wall’. This led on to performances at prestigious Manchester rock venues along with appearances on the local festival scene.

Since entering the Stonedeaf Battle of the Bands the band has become a four piece with original band members, Alex Mancini (Lead Vocals and Bass), Joshua Hart (Lead Guitar), Morgan Deveney (Drums) being joined by Rhythm Guitarist Aaron Chambers. Influenced by Avenged Sevenfold, Metallica, Alter Bridge and Black Stone Cherry, the band have steadily developed a loyal following and are currently writing material for their 1st album which is due to be released later this year. Performing a mix of original tracks and covers, Unknown Refuge will have you rocking and head banging ‘til the final chord. Make sure to give this young band some support on their Facebook Page and Youtube Channel.

New Generation Superstars:

New Generation Superstars continue to fly the flag for British Rock, with their No frills, No Fuss approach. Originally described as “too punk for the rock crowd, and too rock for the punk crowd”, NGS have remained non compromising in playing their distinctive high octane rock, with the hooks and riffs that forge their unmistakable sound; this coupled with a relentless tour schedule over the years has built their ever faithful following worldwide, “The B*stard Division”.

Embracing the DIY ethic, NGS created their own label Underdog Records LTD through which all their critically acclaimed albums have been released. The biography of NGS could read as “War and Peace”, with the band experiencing dizzy heights and turbulent lows, but here are the important parts…

“Crash Course in Rock N Roll ” (2007) recorded in 4 days with Grammy nominated Alan Smyth (Pulp/ Arctic Monkeys), saw copies sold worldwide, capturing the raw, energetic sound of the band. High profile shows and tours followed, with the band touring incessantly in 2007 and 2008.

The aptly named “Raising the stakes” (2009), saw the band doing exactly that! Following the celebration of the album’s release, features and reviews appeared in wide circulating rock press (Kerrang!, Big Cheese, Classic Rock) and airplays on Bruce Dickinson’s (Iron Maiden) rock radio show. High profile shows in the UK, New York, Finland and Germany followed, with NGS building even further on their initial success.

After a substantial line up change, NGS worked hard recording “Rock N Roll or Die” (2013), touring in Spain, Italy, Germany and Finland as well as Festivals and UK headline shows. The pace was relentless, and so were the fans appetite for the music. The B*stard Division was born out of homage to the popular song from the album “Rock N Roll B*stards”, which documented in song the bands passion and commitment to the music and fans.

“King of the World” (2016) is NGS fourth studio album, and a testament to their strength and longevity, the sound has evolved but is unmistakably NGS. The band remain busy, and are already being booked for tours and festivals in the UK and Europe to promote the release well into 2017.

Serving their time on the road, NGS have played many headline shows, also being the support band of choice for acts such as Duff McKagan’s Loaded, The Wildhearts, The 69 Eyes, Supersuckers, Fun Lovin’ Criminals, Hardcore Superstar, LA Guns, Love/Hate, Ricky Warwick, Michael Monroe, Vain, and many more talented musicians; as well as playing many notable festivals in the UK and Europe. NGS continue to be one of the hardest working bands in rock, and will continue to rock hard, or die trying!

Hailing from the heart of England’s ale brewing capital, on the edge of the National Forest, Burton-on-Trent three-piece, THEIA, bring the world their blend of hard rock n roll. It’s a classic rock feel for the modern era, played with a smile on its face.

Raised on his father’s record collection of Marc Bolan, Alice Cooper and AC/DC, mainman, Kyle Lamley (guitar/lead vocals) teamed up with lifelong friend, Paul Edwards (bass/vocals) to form the spine of the band, with drummer Jake Dalton recruited in 2016 to complete the current line-up; and after two early well received EPs, THEIA released their debut album in September 2015.

They continued to lay the groundwork for a bright future in 2016, heading out on the road for a mixture of headline, support and festival shows across the UK including Hard Rock Hell X.

A second album Back In Line was released in Spring 2017 receiving highly favourable reviews, accompanied by a short headline tour and prestigious support slots.

Back up-to-date and Planet Rock Winters End was a storming success for the band in February 2018 accompanied by a Planet Rock “one’s to watch” feature. Album no. 3 is in progress via a fully-funded Pledge Campaign and a round of summer festival slots beckons.
